How to get the best out of your people

top tip is delegation, not abdication.  I’m big on empowerment and allowing top people to put their own talent into their work and to have enough freedom to add value.
I’m happy for them to invent the solution and to conclude it, but I want them to bring it to me as well so that I’m across it.  This ensures accountability.
involve and engage staff in the overall vision so they have a sense of working towards a common goal.
Acknowledge them and reward them in ways unique to them - for some it will be money, for others flexible working hours, or trips overseas
