how to edit/convert pdf files

The simplest is to click on File, Save As from the free Acrobat Reader and save the text. That text can be then opened in Word for editing. However, all formatting, fonts and images are lost.

Many commercial programs will do a full conversion. To find them, type "convert PDF to word" into Google. There are free alternatives. If you have a free Gmail account, then you can send that PDF as an attachment to your account and then select View as html. Then click on File, Save Page As or cut and paste and save into a new Word document.

All images and some formatting will be lost.
