Wireless routers: what to buy

Asus WL-520GC
Price: $50
Good points:

Cheapest router overall.
Recommends changing default security settings.
Encrypts Wi-Fi network by default during setup.
Bad points:
Power adapter overlaps other power sockets.

The D-Link came out for top performance, and
equal highest with the the Linksys for ease of
use, but the Linksys is considerably cheaper.
the ASUS still scored well, had a good setup
wizard, offered encryption by default and was the cheapest in the test. The
TP-Link was also cheap and scored well, but
doesn't come with a setup wizard, so it wouldn't be the best choice for new
users
